Welcome to SportNation!
…and to the SportNation

Based in Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK, our mission is to be the best running club.
We are a vibrant, active club providing motivation, support and reward for all our members
- whatever their age, race, religion, average household income or running shoe size!
And SportNation looks good! Our club logo is shown on front of the club
t-shirts and running vests . These can be bought from the club, and whenever we do a
special event, we'll do t-shirts or vests for members to buy and wear.
As well as that, we do special t-shirts for SportNation Club Award winners,
for birthdays and anniversaries at the club - and sometimes just for the fun of it!
To keep you in touch with the club and your sport, SportNation produce
several publications each year. These include:
- Personal Best, our club newsletter. Issued
free every two months to club members, sponsors and supporters, PB is filled
with articles for members, about members and (we hope!) by members.
- SportNation Annual Report. This isn't the
usual boring stuff that comes out in annual reports everywhere. Published in December each
year, it provides a full round-up of the year's news, including all the events and
achievements surrounding the club, and highlighting major events for the year to come.
- Membership Directory. This comes out in March each
year (after we've collected in as many subs as we're likely to get that year!) and is
issued free to all club members.
- Running Shorts. Twice a year, we produce a booklet on
some topical aspect of running, in a format that's informative, practical and easy to
read. We sell these at around £3.50 a copy, and we make sure they're good value for
money.
You can join SportNation as an individual, a family or as a member of the SportNation
Supporters Club - membership of SportNation is open to anyone who wants to
